Facebook Launches Oculus Rift Controllers

The social media giant has finally launched a virtual reality gadget that can be used by gamers for better gaming experience.

Facebook Inc has finally decided to launch the first product of the virtual reality project that it had formerly started. On Thursday, June 11, the social media website owners announced the release of the first t3D goggles which they even showed to the audiences in a press release. These goggles are also expected to be changed into as a new type of device that can be used for computing purposes as well. On the other hand, it has been said that the Oculus device will be compatible with Microsoft Corporation’s gaming device Xbox One as well.

At an event that was held in San Francisco, the Facebook executives were seen talking about the Rift devices which first and foremost will be used for the purpose of gaming. On a secondary level, it can also be used for recognizing voices along with transferring data through a wireless network, as per the management of the social media platform.

According to the networking firm’s Engineering President, it was noted that the device that is based on virtual reality is actually a teleporting system that is being provided to the people. He also added to his speech that the people in the industry are unaware of the high quality research that is being carried out by the media company and the developments in the industry that it is expecting out of this VR project is going to be phenomenal.

Oculus Rift, which is Facebook first virtual reality product, is predicted to hit the markets in the start of 2016. During the conference, the social media giant did not only give a demo of how the Rift works but also showed an introduction of various games that it is expecting to be launched alongside the device early next year. Moreover, the price in which the device will be made available has not been decided yet. Oculus VR was acquired by the media company in 2014 for a massive deal of $2 billion.

Analysts are of the opinion that the device will not be coming in a low price tag. Also it will be compatible with computers that are powered by the upcoming Windows 10 OS. It is also to be believed by the analysts that if only the media company fires up a deal with the tech giant Microsoft, the popularity and usage of the VR device can double in number. One more product device has been launched by the social media firm which is called the Oculus Touch and can be used as a controller to navigate objects and control them.
